Our Founder

Sleiman Bassila brings over 27 years of leadership experience in the global polymer industry.

After earning a Master’s in Polymer Engineering from McGill University, he joined Exxon in 1999 at its polyethylene facility in Canada.

His experience with Exxon includes:

Operating polyethylene production lines
Leading commercial, supply chain and finance functions
Leading 4.8 million tons/year of major polymer capacity expansions across North America and Asia
Running the Canadian Chemical business with 1 B$/y in sales

In 2022, he was elected to the Board of Directors of the Chemistry Industry Association of Canada, where he chaired both the Governance Committee and CEO Selection Committee.

In January of 2025, Sleiman founded BIC Advisory Group.
