Our Founder
Sleiman Bassila
26 years of Industry Leadership.
After graduating from McGill University with a masters in Polymer Engineering, Sleiman joined Exxon in 1999 at their polyethylene plant in Sarnia, Canada. With ExxonMobil, Sleiman’s career centered around the polymer business from running a polyethylene line early on, to planning 4,800,000 tons/year of Exxon’s most recent polyethylene
polyethylene and polypropylene capacity addition in Mont Belvieu (Texas), Beaumont (Texas) and Dayawan (Guangdong, China), to running the Canadian Chemical business.
In 2022, Sleiman was elected to the Board of Directors of the Chemistry Industry Association of Canada (CIAC) where he chaired both the Governance Committee and the CEO Selection Committee.
Recognizing the significant opportunities for improved competitiveness throughout the polymer value chain, Sleiman founded BIC Advisory Group in 2025 to offer his expertise industry-wide and elevate his contribution in the service of industry participants.
